Dermaroller™

Rejuvenating Skin at a Cellular Level

The Dermaroller™ thickens multiple layers of skin, smoothing texture and diminishing wrinkles. Unlike ablative techniques like Lasers and Fractional Treatments, the Dermaroller™ stimulates new tissue formation. It acts constructively, keeping the skin intact. This technique protects the skin (unlike other needling devices that actually damage it), significantly improving atrophic scars and improving skin texture.

Dermaroller™ also helps

  • Soften the Appearance of Hyper & Hypopigmentation
  • Reduce Disfiguring & Acne Scars
  • Stimulate New Collagen Fibers
  • Improve Blood Supply
  • Harmonize Pigmentation

How does Dermaroller™ work?

The Dermaroller™ is a medical device used for micro-needling. It breaks down old scar tissue and stimulates the proliferation of skin cells. This cell multiplication results in the formation of new tissue layers of elastin and collagen fibers (neo-collagenesis), as well as, in new capillaries for an improved blood supply (neo-angiogenesis). The procedures are called Scar Reduction Therapy (SRT) and Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT).

Who is it for?

Since Dermaroller™ does not apply thermal heat (unlike IPL and Lasers), it is safe to use on all skin types and colors. There is no risk of post-inflammatory hyper-pigmentation. Unlike ablative procedures for facial skin only, the Dermaroller™ can be used for skin on any part of the body (neck, décolleté, arms, legs, etc).

How many treatments are recommended?

For Collagen Induction Therapy, we recommend 3 treatments to start, with a minimum separation time of 6-8 weeks between treatments. For Scar Reduction Therapy, we recommend an average of 3-5 treatments, with expected improvement of 70-80%.

What’s the downtime following treatment?

Directly following treatment, the skin is cleaned and numbed with a gentle cream for complete comfort. The skin’s inflammatory reaction is extremely short and fades significantly within hours from redness to a pinkish hue that may last for 12-24 hours on average. In order to reduce visible redness, we recommend healing minerals, peptides or hyaluronic acid after the procedure, and also protecting the skin with zinc based sunscreen. We also recommend the use of mineral makeup to help the healing. To ensure the right healing environment, avoid AHA’s, Retin A, Retinol or any other acids for 2-4 days post treatment.
