Layers of sun damaged skin, including pre-cancerous skin lesions, actinic keratosis, as well as acne, can be removed by combining a photo-sensitizing agent (Levulan) with a laser light activation procedure. The superficial layers of sun damaged skin, fine lines, hyper-pigmentation, and acne scars are removed leaving a healthier and more youthful appearance. Levulan application also permanently closes off the sebaceous glands, allowing the body to not reproduce future acne.
